Weipa Birthing Program

🎯 Goal:

Support Torres and Cape HHS to identify gaps, risks, and operational needs for establishing a sustainable and culturally safe birthing service in Weipa by mid-2022.

🛠️ Actions:

• Conducted extensive stakeholder engagement across regional and remote communities.

• Assessed current service readiness, workforce capability, risk areas, and infrastructure requirements.

• Developed findings and recommendations to inform future program delivery.

🚀 SMART Impact:

• Identified critical infrastructure, workforce, and clinical governance gaps with 15 clear recommendations

• Delivered strategic advice supporting Torres and Cape HHS to secure State Government support for future funding pathways.

• Established an evidence-based foundation for progressing a First Nations-led birthing model by 2023.

🎯 Goal:

Deliver the largest and most inclusive City of Melbourne election on record, improving voter turnout while ensuring compliance with legislative and security standards.

• Led cross-functional program governance involving nine City of Melbourne branches.

• Embedded discovery, design and delivery practices to mitigate risk across operational, technical and governance streams.
